For those of you who were thinking I fell off the face of the earth, well you're not too far off. Just head down the west coast of the United States, cross in to Mexico (yes...Mexico) and go as far down the coast of Baja California as you can. Eventually, you'll make it to Cabo San Lucas.
My last night on the beach in Cabo
If you're thinking "What idiot would drive his family through Mexico? That's some RV trip!" then I'm sorry to let you down. We did not take the RV. I did suggest to my wife "Hey. We should bring the RV down here some day" just so I could hear her say without hesitation "NO." She's right (she likes to hear that). These days, it's probably better to jump on a plane.
All in all, it was a great trip. Our goal was to check out from technology for a week, relax and spend quality time together. That is pretty much what we did. Some pool time, a few adult beverages, fresh seafood...good times right?
Well after a couple of clear days, we were hit by a few days of hard rain. We were so excited when the sun came back out that we ran right out and got burned. However, due to all of the pool-side happy hour specials we felt no pain...until the next day.
Anyhow, we are so happy to be back in the USA. On our way back to Seattle, we stopped in San Jose. Our landing signaled the end of the week long cellphone, technology, Facebook withdrawal period. So before the airplane hit the gate, the phones were out and spewing Facebook updates (photo right).
Well that's about it for now. Just to let you know, I have a bunch of stuff on my RVWithTito to-do list including:
- Tell you more about what we learned about being disconnected from technology and communication.
- Write up a post on my Solar Panel Installation. You may have seen the video.
- I need to edit a couple more videos on RV storage.
- I'm reviewing a pretty cool cooking gadget called the VeggieBox and will let you know what I think about it.
- Write more posts on random topics
Lastly, before my trip, I changed the oil in my generator and made a video. I just uploaded it and posted it in an old post "Changing the oil in your Onan RV Generator." You should change your generator oil each year. So check it out.
Have you taken any cool vacations?
Go enjoy the last few weeks of summer!!
It looks like you had a wonderful time. Mexico is a place I have not visited yet. But by the picture you posted, it looks like I will be going to Cabo!
ReplyDeleteWhat was your favorite part about Mexico? (For my future travels)
Cheers,

I am so jealous. I am trying to talk my wife into us buying an RV and doing some cross country trips. So far no such luck. Looks and sounds you had a blast... did I say I was jealous already? Thanks for sharing.
