Solar Project Completed!

By on Sunday, July 29, 2012

This weekend I installed a new solar panel on the roof of my RV. The project went pretty smooth and I'm very happy with the result. Every time the sun comes out, I actually want to run down and look at the battery voltage. It's addicting!

Stay tuned for more details about this project. I'm putting together a project video that I'll be posting in the next few days.

Tonight I'm going to sit back and watch the Olympics. Go Team U.S.A. !!!

  1. How is your panel doing? Much of what I read about amorphous panels is that they aren't very efficient compared to mono or polycrystaline? Does it give you enough oomph to fully recharge your batteries?

  2. Dewayne. The panels are doing well so far. I've made some upgrades since this post. I have 3 of those panels installed (250+ watts) now with new wiring and an upgraded controller. Here's a link to the video (http://bit.ly/NrOpHA). Even on cloudy days, it seems to keep a steady charge going.
