Arrived in Canyonville, OR

By on Friday, April 04, 2008

We are all checked in at the Seven Feathers RV Resort in Canyonville. This is a really nice place. Everything looks really clean and new. Unfortunately, it's kind of cold, something we've not been used to. We got a little rain after returning back to Oregon. It was the first rain we've seen since driving through Oregon last week. Today we slept in a little and didn't leave Minden, NV until around 10:30. We arrived here at around 7:15.

Overall, it was a windy day of driving. All the way out of Nevada and into Northern CA we had windy driving conditions. At one point, just north of Carson City, campers, trailers and trucks were prohibited from driving on highway 395. We were able to take an alternate route on the "Old Highway 395" which ran parallel to the really windy windy (newer) section. The alternate part was still extremely gusty. It was a beautiful drive through the mountains heading towards Shasta. There was still a fair amount of snow and thawing lakes at the higher elevations.

Tomorrow, we'll be heading back for home and should get back in the late afternoon. I'm a bit sad that our trip is coming to an end. We have lots of pictures that I'll get posted in the next few days. -T

  1. The sadest part is when the trip is over but the memories last for ever. We have enjoyed every minute of your trip but are looking forward to your return so we can discuss. Now comes the planning for the next trip. The anticipation is almost more than you can bear as you will experience. The open road is calling and we must roll! Let's do it. Deuce

  2. I'm trying to not get bummed about it, but I'm soooo ready to go again. Maybe save up for gas first.

  4. My husband and I stayed at the Seven Feathers RV Resort last year and absolutely loved it! We thought it was so cool that a guy on a golf cart guided you into your spot and a shuttle bus would pick you up to take you to the casino and then drop you off back at your spot. I would have loved to try out the swimming pool, but we were only there for one night and didn't get a chance (the casino was too tempting).

  5. Shannon -- Seven Feathers was certainly one of the nicest places I've stayed so far. We too were only there one night and didn't have time to check out all of the amenities. We could have easily hung out for a couple of days. I was impressed with the individual tiled bathrooms they had with private showers and the rest. They were the nicest bathrooms I've seen in an RV park. I'll plan on staying there each time I'm passing that way. -Tito
