What a cool drive today. It was a long 11 hours of driving today but worth it all the way. We left Vegas at 8:30 this morning and headed North up 95 through the Nevada desert. We drove through Death Valley to 395 and up through the north Sierras. It was a very scenic day and we went from high desert, over about 4 different mountain passes (from 5000 to 8200 feet), past Mono Lake, through many small towns and farms, finally back into Nevada to Minden where we got married 19 years ago.
We got checked in to the Carson Valley Inn RV Park (and Casino) at around 7:30. Today is Nathan's birthday so Melissa made some green bean casserole and I cooked up some steaks. We just baked a birthday cake and he's getting ready to blow out the candles. We'll leave in the morning and go through Reno and Shasta on our way to the Seven Feathers Casino in Oregon. I'll keep you posted when we're on the road. -T
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NATHAN. WHAT A GREAT WAY TO SPEND THE DAY.
