The balloons are away and flying to where ever the wind takes them. It was well worth getting up early to watch and talk to the balloon pilots while they get setup and on their way.
We arrived here in Prosser at around 6AM. We had to get up at 5am and head down here. It was about a 30 minute drive from the RV park in Richland. When we arrived, it was still dark but it was suprising how many people were starting to show up.
We were able to just hang out and watch them go through their routine. All in all, there were approximately 28 balloons participating. They are all very friendly, willing to answer any questions, and let you get right in their business. It's a beautiful morning for it also...a little chilly... but clear skies all the way.
As we were heading back down the highway, you could see the balloons coming down in the surrounding fields and vineyards. If you are ever able to attend one of these rallies, I highly recommend it. It was a very cool experience.
It's only about 8:30AM now and we're on our way back to the RV to hang out and plan our winery visits for the rest of the day.
Here are more photos from the rally. Enjoy :)
