The last long weekend of Summer is coming to a close and most are heading home from their last summer RV trip.
We, on the other hand, elected to spend the long Labor Day Weekend at home tending to the yard and other needs of our home. It was a good time to do some much needed weeding and trimming of the shrubs. Of course, there were a couple of rounds of golf thrown in their as well. We did have a last minute thought of taking the RV out, but without any reservations, we would be out of luck. Spending the weekend at the Walmart in town didn't really appeal to us, so we just stayed put. It was actually nice to avoid the masses of families trying to squeeze in that last hoorah before school. I did, however, spend some time this weekend scrubbing tar off of the rig. I remember driving through a stretch of interstate that had some wet tar on the right side of the lane. It was somewhere on I-90 in Idaho. Some Turtle Wax Bug and Tar remover, a rag and some elbow grease did the trick.
The kids are back in school in a couple of days, so it will be back to the daily grind for a while. The nice part about summer ending is that the State Parks will start opening up once again. During the summer months, the great spots are fully booked. Perhaps it's time to start planning a weekend get away or two. -T
